About the Opportunity

  • Participate in dogma’s Dog Trainer certification program and earn your designation as a certified Dog Trainer.
  • Lead, manage and coach a passionate team of new and experienced dog trainers while guiding them in developing individual skills, removing roadblocks, prioritizing tasks etc.
  • Define and optimize the Client Journey, aligned with our yearly and quarterly goals.
  • Handle the overall responsibility for managing all client relationships at dogma’s Chinook location
  • Develop success plans for clients that outline their critical success factors, metrics for success, potential issues, and provide recommendations.
  • Tracking of sales, goals, client satisfaction and retention, team engagement, KPI’s for the company etc.
  • Serve as an ambassador for dogma’s client experience, representing the organization at the highest levels to prospective partners and clients.

Your Skills

  • A true passion for dogs and improving their lives! Experience with reward-based dog training or a DCBC/CPDT certificate are an asset for this role.
  • Are a powerful client advocate – you feel a sense of responsibility and urgency when a client calls for help and communicate that urgency and need for high performance to the team
  • A minimum of 2 years of management or customer/client success experience, or equivalent industry experience, and proven success in growing sales and relationships
  • Passion for, and experience in, developing and managing high functioning teams; having lead teams of 10+ is preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to translate technical and behavioral information into everyday terms
  • Problem solving and strategic thinking with a love of helping people; Outstanding project management skills, ability to work cross functionally and outside the organization, and have a track record of achieving the results expected
  • Ability to think like you are the client: you believe that your client’s success IS your success
  • You have a talent for solving sticky situations, creating consensus and turning clients into raving fans; Ability to break down ambiguous problems into concrete, manageable components and think through optimal solutions
  • A bias toward action / you love to dive in and get stuff done; Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities while maintaining a strong sense of urgency to ensure every client has a great experience with dogma
  • Are a passionate coach for your high performing team – an outgoing people person who wants to build and grow a like-minded team, with the ability to consult and provide opinion, facilitate discussion and resolve conflict.

We are the only dog care facility in Calgary where every team member is a certified dog trainer or being paid to earn their certification through us. We are looking for hard working and committed individuals with excellent dog and human communication skills. We specialize in providing a welcoming, safe and comfortable environment for our clients and their dogs.

dogma believes in education and a key incentive of this position is a personalized continuing education plan to help you become a certified dog trainer, along with multiple day school and training options for your own dog(s) and an incredible opportunity for growth within the company!

You must have patience and a calm demeanor, be comfortable with groups of dogs and be willing to do lots of cleaning and loving! We require someone for a full-time position. Schedules will vary but potential candidates must be available Monday – Friday between 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and varying evening and weekend shifts.
