"In order to really   enjoy a dog, one   doesn't merely try to   train him to be semi   human. The point of   it is to open oneself   to the possibility of   becoming partly a   dog."
  - Edward Hoagland

Seminars

To continue being Calgary's leading dog education facility, we will be offering regular seminars hosted by us or by bringing in some amazing speakers from across North America.

* All seminars at our 37 Street location, unless otherwise noted. *

We believe that education is a critical part of ensuring the success of our dogs in the urban world. A high majority of the dogs we see with behaviour problems are caused by a miscommunication; and it is always our own miscommunication or misunderstanding of our dog's behaviour. To continue our mission to provide comprehensive dog owner education, we have developed a wide range of in-depth seminars to help you better understand your dog.

As well, to continue our mission to support local animal rescue groups through sharing of knowledge, we offer free attendance to our seminars as well as a variety of other programs through our facility. To find out more, have your organization contact Megan Armstrong at megan@dogmatraining.com for more details!

Each seminar is priced individually ($40+gst/person), and we also offer a bulk discount if you pre-purchase a five seminar package ($150 + gst/person).

How Dogs Learn

Dogs adapt quickly to our ways and learn how to respond to us. They are amazing animals which is why they have become an integral part of the urban lifestyle. Part of our responsibility as guardians to our dogs should be that we understand how they learn and understand the world. This allows us to effectively assist them at successfully adapting into the human lifestyle. This seminar is packed full of video examples, opinions from both sides of the debate and an open, frank discussion on why you should do a little research before signing on for a class to train your four-legged friend. It's completely free of charge - all we ask is for a donation to Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF). When you register, you can close out the payment screen.
