Calgary's Second Annual Mutt Show!

Don’t miss Calgary’s second annual Mutt Show – a dog show with heart! Learn about local animal rescue groups and meet animals currently available for adoption, all in a unique dog-show style format.

When: Saturday, June 8th

Time: 10 am - 4 pm

Where: 5, 2835 - 37 Street SW

We will be having a full day for you to showcase all of your dog's best features/talents! You must register your dog to compete in the show and there are a limited number of spots for each category. We will have guest judges and prizes will be awarded for each winner!

Registration closes Friday, May 31st

Schedule:

10:00 am - 10:30 am: Welcome and Focus on Fosters - a selected rescue group will showcase some of their adoptables!

10:30 am - 11:30 pm: Princes and Princesses (up to 6 months)

  1. Most likely to become a dancer (best wiggles)
  2. Least likely to become a police dog (best kisser)
  3. Most likely to become a search and rescue dog (best sniffer)
  4. Most likely to become the teacher's pet (best attention/focus)
  5. Most likely to compete at the Indy 500 (fastest recall)

11:30 am - 12:00 pm: Focus on Fosters - a selected rescue group will showcase some of their adoptables!

12:00 pm - 1:00 pm: Kings and Queens (over 6 months)

  1. Most likely to become class valedictorian (best attention/focus)
  2. Most likely to be sponsored by Nascar (fastest recall)
  3. Most likely to become a bomb detection dog (best leave it)
  4. Most likely to become a british guard (Beefeater) (longest stay)

1:00 pm - 1:30 pm: Focus on Fosters - a selected rescue group will showcase some of their adoptables!

1:30 pm - 2:30 pm: Talent Show (all ages)

  1. Best Stunt Dog (fastest time through agility course)
  2. Best Track and Field Dog (fastest time through obstacle/rally course)
  3. Strongest Dog (best time for 10 push ups - one push up=sit then down)
  4. Best Catch
  5. Best Vocals
  6. Best Prance
  7. Best Trick

2:30 pm - 3:00 pm: Focus on Fosters - a selected rescue group will showcase some of their adoptables!

3:00 pm - 4:00 pm: Beauty Pageant (all ages)

  1. Sexiest Senior (over 7 years old)
  2. Scruffiest Dog (makeover prize by The Wag Dog Grooming)
  3. Best Costume
  4. Best Duo (owner/dog costume)
  5. Best Celebrity Look-a-Like
  6. Mr. Mutt Show 2013 (most points overall)
  7. Mrs. Mutt Show 2013 (most points overall)

Register your dog by clicking here! Only dogs who are part of the Mutt Show may attend for the day.

The day will be filled with a variety of activities for your whole family and your dog. There will be snacks and refreshments for dogs and humans, kiddie pools to keep our dogs cool and animals available for adoption! There will also be a variety of fundraising activities such as basic grooming services. Full details will be announced shortly!
